Biometric data collection in Copenhagen

The date for the next biometric data collection visit in spring 2027 will be announced at a later stage. An announcement is expected towards the end of winter 2026/27.

If you are registered as a Swiss citizen with the Regional Consular Centre (RCC) in Stockholm and reside in Denmark, you will automatically receive information about the next deployment. To ensure you receive the invitation, please verify that your email address is up to date in the RCC's records.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

• How can I apply for an identity document and obtain an appointment in Copenhagen

  An online application must be submitted for each person requiring an identity document.

  In the “Remarks” section of the online application form, you must enter “mobile Copenhagen”. Only applications containing this remark will be registered for participation in the biometric data collection visit in Copenhagen.

  Priority is given to holders of identity documents that have expired or will expire within the next twelve months.

  Please note that your personal records must be up to date to receive an appointment. If there has been a change in your civil status (marriage, divorce, change of name, etc.), you must inform the Regional Consular Centre (RCC) in Stockholm without delay.
  If the Swiss civil status register has not been updated, the issuance of new identity documents may be delayed.

• What do I need to bring to my appointment?

  If you hold both a Swiss passport and a Swiss identity card, please bring both documents to your appointment, whether they are valid or expired.

  If you do not have a Swiss identity document, you must present a valid foreign identity document.

  Please note: Driving licenses are not accepted as proof of identity.

  You do not need to bring passport photographs to the appointment

• Minors

  Minors must attend the appointment accompanied by their legal representative. If both parents hold parental responsibility, the presence of one parent is sufficient, provided that written consent from the other parent is submitted. The parent or legal representative attending the appointment must identify themselves with a valid passport or identity card. The attending parent must bring a signed declaration of consent form, together with a copy of the valid passport or identity card of the absent parent.

  If one parent has sole custody, an appropriate court decision or other official proof of custody must be presented.

• How long will it take to receive my new documents?

  At your appointment, you may choose to have your current Swiss identity documents cancelled.

  This allows your new documents to be sent directly to your residential address by registered mail once they have been produced in Switzerland. Delivery generally takes approximately 10 to 15 days after the appointment. If you have not received your documents within three weeks, you should contact the RCC in Stockholm by email without delay.

  If you prefer not to have your current Swiss identity documents cancelled at the appointment, the procedure is different:

  Your new documents will first be sent to the RCC in Stockholm.

  You will then be asked to send in your old identity documents by post so that the exchange can be completed.

  In this case, the process takes longer. Please allow approximately five weeks to receive your new identity documents.
